Dallas Mavericks is a renowned name among the best basketball teams and has seen the highs and lows in its entire time. After the retirement of Brad Davis, there were three other basketball players who allowed the Dallas to begin to be considered as a serious team in NBA. These were Mark Aguirre, Rolando Blackman and Jay Vincent. Thanks to the team that managed to form the Mavs gradually reaching farther and farther away from the mediocre teams, something that was not easy considering its little history and the award came quite early.
In 1983-1984 season, Dallas Mavericks managed to sneak into the basketball playoffs as the second-ranked Division and fourth in the Western Conference. In his first playoff, the Mavericks got through a few rounds until encountered intractable Los Angeles Lakers in which shone a young man named Magic Johnson. In 1984, Mavs were serviced by Sam Perkins. He was the icing on the cake that shone with his own light in the late eighties. The team managed to qualify for various playoffs and even won its first division title in 1987.
However, Dallas Mavericks suffered a few years of bad luck. Among the departure of key basketball players for the franchise to other teams and injuries of the great basketball players who decided to stay in Dallas, it was not until 1996 when they returned to emerge as top team. In 1996-1997 season, the Texas franchise made a real revolution in its workforce, which allowed it to achieve the necessary quality to excel again with special assistance by Michael Finley. But the signings in the 1998-1999 season, those who would be their two biggest stars in the next fifteen years were decisive for the final revival of the Mavs i.e. Dirk Nowitzki and Steve Nash. That same season, the team got great results and the franchise was bought by Mark Cuban, the current owner.
And it would be in this new century when the Dallas Mavericks came to be considered one of the top basketball teams in NBA. Although they came to some end, there was only one that was seared into the memory of every fan of the Texas team. It was the 2010-2011 season. The Dallas Mavericks got its first NBA title. On the way to the title, Mavs had to deal with its eternal nemesis, Los Angeles Lakers. The team led by Pau Gasol and Kobe Bryant was defeated by 4-0, allowing Texans go round. The final was played against the Miami Heats that already won in the fight for the title in four seasons before Mavs and the team managed to be a winning team.
